World AIDS Day of AHF's Past

World AIDS Day was founded on December 1st, 1988 by what is now UNAIDS. Focusing on different themes every year, World AIDS Day is meant to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and to celebrate and mourn those who have died from this awful disease. It is celebrated internationally and coincides with education on AIDS treatment and prevention.
